Laser Skirmish at Glenworth Valley on the Central Coast
Information

What is Laser Skirmish?

Laser Skirmish is a team combat simulation that can be played indoors, outdoors, even at night. It can be compared to paintball, yet since there are no projectiles, there are no bruises. It can also be compared to Lazer Tag, however Laser Skirmish weapons have a much longer effective range (up to 500'/150m+).

Laser Skirmish is like a live computer game! You get to sneak through the bush and take out the enemy using telescopic scopes, just like on the XBox or PS2, but this is reality, not 3D graphics. This is about as realistic as it gets outside the military! You get rolling battles played out over huge battlefields, with real team-mates and enemies, no lag, and no dumb Artificial Intelligence!

Laser Skirmish is a tactical game. Communication and teamwork play a very large part in Laser Skirmish. Rather than being in close contact with your enemy from the outset (as in paintball), you often start a considerable distance apart, usually out of visual contact. This means you need to find your opposition before you can engage them. Teams are dressed in full camouflage uniforms and are given a mission breifing before each mission starts. Equipped with a range of Laser Skirmish weapons, it is up to you to determine what tactics to use as you encounter the enemy. This is as real as combat simulation can get.

How does it work?

The weapons we use at First Strike Laser Skirmish are solid and realistic in shape and weight. They use infra-red, like a TV remote-control, which is picked up by sensors on the head and gun of your opponent. Each player's sensors are attached to their gun, so when they are hit, their gun is automatically deactivated. This prevents players from shooting when they are "dead", eliminating cheating. The guns are accurate even at long range, and some include telescopic sights for long range sniping.

Who can play?

Since there are no projectiles, there are no legal age restrictions on Laser Skirmish. At First Strike, players must be at least 10 years old*, children under 15 must be accompanied by an adult. Laser Skirmish suits all fitness levels, and all ages.

*NOTE: We have had players younger than 10, however please call us about the conditions associated with players under 10 years of age.
